Dan Leaney
Dan joined ICTS in October 2022 as Cluster Account Manager for a high-profile Data Centre client, bringing with him extensive operational experience and a strong commitment to service excellence. In May 2026, he was appointed Head of Operations for the ICTS Corporate Division, where he continues to support the development and delivery of high-quality security services.
Dan began his career in the security industry after leaving the Army in 1999, initially joining as a Security Officer while considering his next career move. What began as a temporary step quickly became a long-term vocation, as he discovered a genuine interest in the role and became involved in local security projects that had a meaningful impact. Over time, Dan developed a strong passion for the industry, with a particular focus on improving the roles he worked in and supporting those beginning their own careers in security.
Reflecting on his career, Dan has valued the ongoing evolution and growth of the security industry. He particularly enjoys that “each day is different” and appreciates the challenges the sector can bring. He also highlights the breadth of opportunities available across the industry, noting that there are many different sectors to learn about, “all with their own challenges and growth opportunities.” For Dan, the Security Industry offers a rewarding career path for those who are focused, committed and keen to develop.
When asked who is best suited to a career in security, Dan believes it is an ideal industry for anyone who is prepared to work hard, wants to feel they are achieving something worthwhile each day, and can respond quickly to changing and challenging circumstances. As Dan explains, “It’s a great industry to work in and provides all the opportunities for career progression if you want it.”
